On arrival we were received by Madam Jennifer, the Center manager,

She took us on a tour of the place, where we saw the administration offices which are currently in the same building as the girl’s dormitory.

They have a center manager, finance manager, sponsorship manager, counsellor, matron, midwife/nurse

We also saw the resource center which has books and various stationery materials

There is an opportunity for us to support the resources center in alignment with the DGs BELEP project

The second block has a dinning room, computer room, knitting room and indoor kitchen

– Skills the girls have learnt
– Cooking and bakery
– Knitting
– Agriculture
– Bible and knowing God
– Life skills- making good friends
– Infant care – how to look after our babies, caring for the cord and bathing the baby
– Knitting- baby hats, neck warmers and ponchos

The youngest girl at the time of our visit is 13 years old.

The center has a capacity for 50 girls.

Priority is given to girls between the ages of 11-17.

There are 22 girls at the time of our visit.

Thank you
Winfred Karungi Ssewava
