The Rotary Fellowship for Empowering Women was borne out of a program for Rotary District 9211 commonly referred to as ROSES whose objective was to grow and groom female membership leaders in Rotary in addition to highlighting the role of women in community service.
We are like-minded people with a passion of empowering girls and women to take action to lead and thrive in their professions, businesses and personal lives while creating a lasting change in our communities. Our membership is open to both male and female and we are proudly known as ROSES because of our diversity in gender, age, professions, ethnicity, interests and skills. What brings us together is our love for empowering women through our gender related service activities, sharing ideas and knowledge as well as celebrating our sisterhood.

Principles and core values of the fellowship
The fellowship shall be guided by the following principles and core values:
Leadership
We are individuals who are leaders in our fields of work. We believe in the importance of leadership and personal development of our members.
Service
We are women of action committed and passionate about changing lives in our communities through service. We believe that our service activities and programs bring about greater world understanding and peace.
Diversity
We believe in the object of Rotary that unifies all people internationally behind the ideal of service. We are diverse in vocations, age, ethnicity and gender.
Fellowship
We are a global fellowship if individuals who believe that individual efforts focus on individual needs but confined efforts serve humanity. The power of combined efforts and passion knows no limitations, multiplies resources and broadens our lives and perspectives.
Relationships
Relationships are about recognizing and celebrating our achievements. Through our sisterhood, we establish healthy, positive business relationships with colleagues, partners, associates, and any other entity that directly or indirectly contributes to the success of our fellowship. We foster friendships, camaraderie ,valuable professional networks and treat others with respect.
Objectives of the Program: –
The Main objectives of the program shall be:
a) To groom girls and women into leadership through mentorship, life skilling and provision of growth opportunities.
b) To empower women through the gender related service projects.
c) To elevate women and increase networking potential and harness sisterhood/ Bonding.
d) To celebrate the milestones of women in and out of Rotary.
STRATEGIC GOALS
The Fellowship will focus on four key goals
We believe that women are catalysts of change and we empower communities through projects that specifically address the needs of girls and women in communities. By building a community of sisterhood our collective efforts are needed more than ever to improve livelihoods of women in communities in addition to celebrating our sisterhood together.
OUR SERVICES
Our efforts are focused to drive progressive improvements in the communities in line with the focus areas of Rotary International as well as the Rotary District goals
and activities .
Our services are focused to benefit the girls and women who are the most vulnerable in our communities.
Service Projects:
Together with our partners, we undertake community service projects to support mothers and children. Activities include but not limited to mobile prenatal clinics, cancer screening, immunizations, menstrual health and Hygiene, Blood donation drives, supply of mama kits, providing support to maternity wards, mental health and drug abuse, advocacy against gender based violence, human trafficking, child labor, fitness and nutrition, training and information on how to protect themselves and their children from disease.
The economic and social transformation projects that empower women in their businesses include: Business and vocational training of girls and women in communities, Financial Literacy and Micro credit access.
Leadership Development:
Our goal is to strengthen the capacity of girls and women through leadership development programs including mentorship and coaching in business, career, life skills, family, general etiquette basic education and literacy. We provide a platform for our members to learn a skill through activities including vocational tours, business and career fairs, networking events, mentorship and skilling programs leadership trainings and motivational leadership talks. Equipping girls and women with skills and knowledge encourages them to actively participate in the development and wellbeing of their communities.
Celebration of Sisterhood:
We celebrate women’s contributions and accomplishments in the areas of service and leadership to inspire others to aim higher and realize their full potential. We believe in team work and blossoming together as Roses. Together we support each other through sharing experiences, knowledge and stories of love, betrayal, scars, female friendship and their impact on the community of sisterhood in addition to sharing tips, tools and solutions on how we can heal, rebuild ourselves & each other as well as the community. Celebrating sisterhood helps us to live and serve better in addition to giving us a sense of belonging as women of action.
