We are passionate about empowering girls and women in communities through our service projects, Coaching and mentorship programs as well as celebration of sisterhood achievements
The fellowship is performing its mandate in empowerment of women in line with Rotary’s seven areas of focus. Currently it is focusing on projects in these areas below:
- Community and Economic Development
- Basic Education and Literacy
- Peace and Conflict Resolution
- Maternal and Child Health
- Water Sanitation and Hygiene
- THE ROLI PAD PROJECT
In Uganda and Tanzania, despite unending efforts by several individuals and organizations to reach out to the girl child and alleviate the dire state many girls in the country are in today, there are still several atrocities surrounding not just the girl-child but the female race as a whole. The atrocities happening in many communities in Uganda and around the world include early/forced marriage, abduction, and defilement, discrimination in relation to their male counterparts regarding education; domestic violence, lack of income, poverty, lack of education, lack of skills and many others. Many girls are also faced with the lack of access to proper sanitary ware to use during their menstrual period.
The Roses in partnership with MOTIV Uganda is running a skilling and pad production campaign to address the needs of the girl child in regards to menstrual hygiene, to train young women who are less privileged on how to make the pads through the different workshops so as to be able to fend for themselves when they get into their periods. The young women shall produce sanitary towels that can be purchased by other people, clubs and the district for the family health days, their major projects, distribution in slums, refugees’ camps among others.

- SAVING CHILDREN AND MOTHERS: BLOOD DONATIONS
Saving lives of mothers and children is at the core of our service offering. In partnership with the Rotary Mengo Blood bank, Uganda Red Cross and Rotarctors in D9211, we spearhead the blood donation drives across the county.
- MENTORSHIP OF YOUTH AND WOMEN
It is important that all Roses are given an opportunity to use their talents and vocations to support our communities starting with volunteering to mentor the youth. We need as many mentors to pass on skills in careers, leadership, business, family and general mentorship Every Rose should be engaged for the maximum effect of making a difference. Each one of us is gifted in various ways to make a difference. We use our talents and skills to make that significant impact. With the pandemic, many of our girls and women have been rendered jobless. Within us we could support them bounce back through providing learning and business opportunities
- CELEBRATION OF SISTERHOOD
We believe in celebration of women achievements through our sisterhood. Together we support each other through sharing experiences, knowledge and stories of love, betrayal, scars, female friendship and their impact on the community of sisterhood in addition to sharing tips, tools and solutions on how we can heal, rebuild ourselves & each other as well as the community. Celebrating sisterhood helps us to live and serve better in addition to giving us a sense of belonging as women of action
