A Rose Consulate is a representation of a group of individuals in a country authorized on behalf of the Rotary Fellowship of Empowering Women (RFEW) to carry out the fellowship’s obligations. To apply for a consulate/local chapter, you should be attached to a Rotary district.

GUIDE TO FORMING A ROSE CONSULATE (LOCAL CHAPTER)

1. Notify the RFEW Rose Consulates Director of your intentions by sending your application through roseconsulate@rotaryempweringwomen.org.

2. Decide on an appropriate name for the local chapter, typically covering one Rotary district or country.

3. Contact all the known Rotarians, non-Rotarians, Rotaractors in your designated area with a shared passion for empowering girls/women. The goals of the fellowship include widening membership base through attracting more female to join Rotary, improving visibility of Rotary through our gender related service projects, leadership and personal development as well as celebration of sisterhood achievements

4. Hold an event, meeting or a tour in the community and invite all your contacts to attend. Have an interesting format or program that will appeal to most of the attendees and have fun.

5. Ask all the attendees to become members of the RFEW and at the same time, the local chapter. Membership should be diverse in age, gender and ethnicity. Local chapters can charge their own dues not exceeding US$30.

6. Form a leadership structure as per the RFEW Bylaws and submit your membership list and activity plan to roseconsulate@rotaryempweringwomen.org. To qualify, you needed to have a membership of not less than 10 members and an action plan for the service, leadership and social activities.

Membership in local chapters will also be updated on our website (www.rotaryempweringwomen.org)

7. Upon approval, launch you chapter with an event to attract more members. Local events can be publicized in our newsletters, on our website (www.rotaryempweringwomen.org ) and on our RFEW Facebook page.

8. Participate as a chapter in the quarterly events to share more knowledge and experiences.

9. Use opportunities to advertise the RFEW and your local chapter at functions of the district. Inform your district team about RFEW and your local chapter and explore opportunities to support the district initiatives

10. Encourage your members to attend the RI International Conventions and participate in the RFEW activities and events.
