“I am Enough!”
One of the biggest obstacles many women and girls face in their lives is what is known as the “imposter syndrome.” That inner voice that whispers you are not good enough. You are not beautiful enough, not bright enough, not strong enough, not rich enough. The list is endless. Imposter syndrome has shattered more dreams and hindered more potential leaders than any nuclear bomb ever could.
As we celebrate the International Day of the Girl Child, I would like to invite every girl/ woman here to do something powerful. Stand in front of a mirror, look closely at the reflection that appears, and say loudly: “I Am Enough!”
Recently, I came across a quote that resonated deeply: “Think about all that you are, instead of all that you are not.” Within each of us lies a wealth of qualities, talents, and skills that make us unique and capable of leading in one way or another.
As you listen to this, take a moment to reflect on the qualities that are uniquely yours. Identify one to three strengths you possess and explore how you can use these qualities to create positive change, no matter where you are—whether in your school, your club, your community, or even your family. Look for what needs to change, and use your strengths to ignite that change.
Remember, your voice and your strengths are powerful tools for making a difference. Embrace who you are, because you are enough.
