*Second Chances for Teenage Mothers: A Rotary Commitment.
On this International Day of the Girl Child, we reaffirm our commitment to empowering young mothers and giving them a second chance in life. Rotary is a global network of neighbors, friends, and problem-solvers who believe that people “unite and take action to create lasting change”. Guided by our motto Service Above Self, we dedicate ourselves to lifting up teenage mothers through education, mentorship, and community support. As Rotarians we empowering girls and women align with Rotary’s core values and creates lasting change.
Teenage mothers face many challenges: interrupted schooling, stigma, and financial hardship. Yet with support, they can rewrite their story. We pledge to stand with them by:
• Educating and mentoring through scholarships, tutoring, and role models, ensuring they can continue their studies.
• Providing community support via counseling, peer networks, and health services that strengthen families.
• Upholding dignity and hope, by celebrating successes and affirming that every girl and mother deserves respect and opportunity.
Rotary’s Fellowship for Empowering Women embodies our mission of service and fellowship. Together we turn challenges into hope. We invite all Rotarians and community leaders to act: volunteer as mentors, support local programs, and advocate for keeping young mothers in school. In doing so we live out Rotary’s mission “to provide service to others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace
Let us inspire these young women and reaffirm that no dream is out of reach. By working together, we create lasting change and honor the potential in every girl and young mother.
